It was so wonderful to chat with Shirley Williams, who is an Emmy-nominated producer and supervising producer at Refinery29. FYI, this Fabulous Confabulation was before COVID and social distancing, so I was able to speak to her at the Refinery29 office. We chatted about what her job entails, the importance of creating your own work, her production company, Willie B. Productions, the challenges she faces being a woman of color in the industry, and so much more.
She is also the founder of Hue You Know which is a private hub on Facebook created for BIPOC who work in media. It is asafe space to ask entertainment related questions, seek advice, posts for employment seeking and opportunities.
